Aji Imbabura (PI 595905) Chilli Seeds (c.baccatum)
Originally from Ecuador in South America. A regional pepper named after the area. Plants produce large fruits which hang pendant on the plant. Fruits ripen from a light or mid green, through orange and finally to red. In the right conditions, plants can be quite prolific. Fruits can measure approximately 10 x 2.5 cm.
Plants can grow to 140 cm tall and 80 cm wide or more. Flowers have the distinctive white and green/yellow markings. These can be quite early to fruit, and ripen quickly. Plants will need support or staking.
The PI number, simply refers to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Plant Index number under which the variety is listed.
