Aji Panca Chilli Seeds (c.chinense)
Originally from the costal regions of Peru, South America. Also known as Aji Brown. This is a neat, upright, medium sized plant. Fruits hang pendant on the plant and ripen from a dark green to a deep chocolate, brown colour. In the right conditions, these can be prolific and around 12 x 2.5 cm. Traditionally these are dried and used to season food or make sauces or salsas. Dried fruits are said to have a berry, smokey like flavour.
Most of the heat is in the placenta and seeds. These are often removed, reducing the fruits heat to mild. If the seeds are left in the fruits are hotter.
These are repeatedly reported as baccatum, but there definitely are not. Flowers are white, with one or two flowers per node.
Plants are around 140 cm tall and 60 cm wide. These can be quite late to fruit, and need a long season, but worth the wait.
10 Seeds approximately per pack.
Our seeds are mainly open pollinated, natures way. Occasionally accidental crosses occur.
All of our seeds are from fruits grown by us. All of our photographs are photographs of our own fruit and subject to copyright.
