Earbob (PI 159272) Chilli Seeds (c.baccatum)
Originally from the USA. Plants produce large fruits which hang pendant on the plant. Fruits start off a dark green and ripen through an almost brown colour to a glossy red. Initial fruits were smaller than subsequent ones, but all of a reasonable size. Fruits are thick skinned and very juicy. There is a low to medium baccatum heat towards the stalk end. Fruits can measure approximately 5.5 x 2.5 cm.
Plants can grow to 180+ cm tall and 80 cm wide or more. Flowers have the distinctive white and green/yellow markings. These can be quite early to fruit, and ripen quickly.
The PI number, simply refers to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Plant Index number under which the variety is listed.
